Jyotish: Vedic Astrology
As Ayurveda is a means to accomplish the four aims of life: pleasure, earthly success, duty, and spiritual freedom, so then is Jyotish, 'the science of light.' Just as the position and radiation of the sun influences the growth of all plant life on Earth, and the electromagnetism of the moon regulates all that is liquid, from cerebral spinal fluid to the oceans in their immensity and depth, so then must the other celestial bodies, with their radiation, electromagnetism, and gravity have an equally significant effect on Earth, and all that exists here. These energies blend and combine to influence the environmental, the physical, the mental, and the more subtle levels of human life in a beneficial, or malicious manner. Using exact mathematical calculations at a precise moment, from a particular point on earth, the position of these planets and the combination of these effects can be calculated. Shesha Vedic Sciences employs traditional methods to observe phenomena and authentic methods to correct or optimise these influences. We use the methods of Phaladeepika, and Parasha, as well as what we have been directly taught by our teachers and mentors, to observe various types of astrological phenomena and offer various types of advice or information. We compose birth charts (with exact birth time), horary charts (without birth time), and use omenology to recommend the best time for you to begin new projects and the most practical advice for you on your path through the wonders of life toward self-discovery.
